In Spain, <strong>SMEs<\/strong>\n<strong>generate 70% of jobs<\/strong>. They are undoubtedly a key element in achieving\nthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pactomundial.org\/2017\/02\/ods\/\">17 Sustainable Development Goals\n(SDGs)<\/a> of the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development, which aim to\nrestore the planet\u2019s ecological balance and address the most pressing social\nchallenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">However, despite the important role\nthey play and as detailed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pactomundial.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Gu\u00eda-para-pymes-ante-los-ODS.pdf\">Guide to the SDGs for SMEs<\/a>, 78% of Spanish SMEs\ncurrently have no or only superficial knowledge of the 2030 Agenda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">This is not true of <span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span>, which has been part of the United Nations Global Compact\nNetwork Spain for over six years and takes Corporate Social Responsibility on\nboard as another company asset. The company promotes attitudes and commitments\nthat help to build <strong>a fairer, more sustainable and balanced world<\/strong> as part\nof its corporate culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Since 2014, each year <span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span> has reasserted its focus on transparency by renewing its commitment to the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact in areas such as human and labour rights, the environment and the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">As for the SDGs, <span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span> mainly focuses on the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SDG 3: Health and Well-being<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span> has a strong commitment to the health and well-being of our\nemployees. That is why our professionals have flexible working hours to help\nwith their work-life balance. In this sense, we are gradually implementing a\nremote working system for employees who ask for this option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">From the time of recruitment, our\nemployees receive different training courses on occupational risk prevention\nand their workstations are ergonomically equipped to ensure greater comfort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">We have also contracted an office\nfruit delivery service so that employees adopt healthy habits. Furthermore, we\nraise awareness on the advantages of regular exercise and, each year, part of\nour team represents the company at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carreradelasempresas.com\/\">Business Race<\/a> held in Madrid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SDG 5: Gender Equality<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Regarding employee recruitment and remuneration, <span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span> focuses on candidates with skills that are suitable for a position and merit for their remuneration, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, nationality, social status, or any physical or mental disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The current percentage of female\nemployees at the company is 35%, a figure that <strong>exceeds the sector average <\/strong>(18%\naccording to data from the Ministry of Social Services and Equality). The\ncompany has no gender-based salary gap or discrimination and applies <strong>internal\nmeasures to ensure work-life balance<\/strong>. This is especially important so as\nnot to hinder women in a sector associated with intensive working hours, total\navailability and dedication outside working hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span> boasts a very charitable team that collaborates in important\ninitiatives such as the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gilgayarre.org\/gracias-a-todas-las-personas-y-empresas-que-habeis-hecho-posible-nuestro-8o-mercadillo-de-navidad\/\"><strong>Gil Gayarre\nAssociation Christmas market<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reyesmagosdeverdad.org\/\"><strong>The Real Three Wise\nMen<\/strong><\/a>, two wonderful projects that support and favour social inclusion for\ndisadvantaged groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and\nProduction<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">As our activity is primarily digital\nand we pose no major risks for the environment, although we must monitor the\nprogressive reduction of company waste. Our <strong>environmental policy, regulated\naccording to ISO 14001<\/strong>, seeks to reduce the use of polluting vehicles as\nmuch as possible, as well as the use of derived fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The company has specific, marked\nrecycling points for paper, containers, printing toner and batteries, and\nequipment that can no longer be used is taken to the relevant reuse or\nrecycling points so their parts can be given another use. A footnote on the\ncorporate email signature raises awareness on printing information only when\nnecessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SDG 13: Climate Action<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">A study has been conducted to verify\nthe impact of changing our offices (our current location is much better\nconnected with various public transport options) in terms of private vehicle\nuse. We have managed to reduce private vehicle use by 22%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Plastic cups have been eliminated\nfrom <span class=\"X tipografiaLogoAlvantia sizeFontSmall | sizeFontMedium\"> Alvantia <\/span> offices and replaced by\npaper or cardboard cups. We have also provided each employee with a\ncustomisable glass container to eliminate disposable cups in the medium term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Annual internal and external audits\nto monitor ISO 14001 compliance (implemented since 2015) allow us to measure\nthe impact of environmental procedures, guaranteeing that best practices last over\ntime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">To verify the success of our\nenvironmental policies and identify necessary actions, each year we count how\nmany kilos of paper, office material and batteries are recycled, comparing\nfigures to the previous period. <\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that&#8230;?
