From this forum of opinion and ideas, that is the Alvantia Blog, we would like to put forward our humble vision of the situation in which we are currently embroiled, and will continue to experience over the next few days and weeks. We will look at this in a strictly economic and financial context and particularly from the point of view of a simple analysis and forecast of what may happen in the coming months, specifically, the liquidity that the network of SMEs and the self-employed will need.

The Alvantia offices are dressing up in red to celebrate their sixteenth Christmas and close a very successful year for the company. During 2019 we have faced up to new challenges and continued with others that are now deeply ingrained in our DNA. This is a brief summary of what this year had in store for us.

According to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data is a fundamental right. However, rapid technological change and globalisation have posed new challenges in this area. The scale of the collection and exchange of personal data has increased significantly, and technology now enables both private companies and public authorities to use personal data on an unprecedented scale in carrying on their activities. At the same time, awareness of personal information is growing, and there is clearly a growing concern for security, privacy and the protection of personal data.
For some years now, commercial transactions have been moving towards the digital world. However, we still maintain processes that reduce the agility and competitiveness of companies and entail an additional cost for them. One of them is physical or manual billing, which is still used in many organisations in our country.

Latin America has enormous potential for Factoring development (according to FCI, it represents 5% of the volume worldwide) which, based on the region’s status as global leader in the implementation of e-invoicing, will be conducive to the necessary financial inclusion of its SMEs, a requirement for achieving greater and balanced socio-economic development.
It is paradoxical that given that the majority of university students in Spain who obtain better results than their peers are women (54%), it is in the ‘scientific or technical field’ where there is a less significant presence of women. This is reflected in current statistics on the presence of women in Sciences, since in the field of Engineering they account for less than a quarter of the total number of students and only 12% in some technical degrees. In light of these data, we should ask ourselves why girls and female adolescents do not choose a technological or science degree.
